For the 96 Class Project I will be coding all of the html documents and posting them on the Virginia Tech Server. The layout for this is basically demonstrated in the current layout of the pages, which should be significantly outlined by all of the other groups members by now. In order to improve the layout, Chris Lattin, Ben Hailer, and I will be working on a page layout with frames, modeled after Diana Farkas's current homepage. This should consist of three sections :

As things develop further I will be working with Susan Heilich and the four group leaders to finalize the page's look and operation. Part of it's final look will include some gif files created from x-pow, one of Dr. Gibb's fortran programs for helping us to deal with atomic symmetry. Chris lattin and I will be creating these and using them as global marker gifs.

In addition to these duties I have located a picture of a stainless steel hoist for Jamie's ternary phase diagram page, as to it's permanent nature that will be up to Jamie and the rest of the members of the experimental group. I plan to scan and download other pictures as various members of the groups require it, that is when the other members of the sciviz group are not available.

In order to replace the one assignment that I neglected to do, the word document on molecular dynamics, I intend to do a small tutorial page on HTML and coding/formatting in HTML. In this tutorial I plan to use the molecular dynamics assignment as a basis for documented examples. Keith Knipling also showed interest in this idea and may work with me. I will have links from this tutorial to web sites that have similar purposes including the software page that Susan located earlier this semester and the Molecular dynamics project that was provided for us to learn from.

If other duties arise into my control they will be noted in my revised contract at the completion of the project.

See how far the class project has developed.
