Background Information
DIVERSE
DIVERSE is an Application Programming Interface for developing 3D virtual environments
using multiple input and output devices that are accessed through a shared memory
design. DIVERSE was designed to handle devices as complex as the cave but will run
on smaller system such as a PC. This makes it an ideal candidate for a cost effective
development Linux environment.
DIVERSE stands for Device Independent Virtual Environments- Reconfigurable,
Scalable, Extensible and has two parts, DIVERSE graphics interface for Performer
(dgiPf) and DIVERSE Toolkit (DTK).
