Problem Statement
The transverse displacement and twist angle of a large aspect ratio wing at low speeds may be found by coupling the linear, dynamic bending equations with the aerodynamic loads produced by a vortex lattice method. The wing and flowing air are treated as a single dynamic system. The equations governing air flow and wing motion are integrated simultaneously and interactively at each time step. A model analysis and a Galerkin procedure are used to obtain the governing equations.
